06/12/2019 - First or second film projects by directors from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe will take part in Feature Launch next year, along with three script-consultant trainees

MIDPOINT has announced the nine projects and three script-consultant trainees who will be taking part in MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2020. The programme focusing on feature-length films is designed for filmmakers working on their first or second movies.

The teams consisting of writers, directors and producers from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine will participate in a year-long development platform, which kicks off in January in Trieste and runs until January 2021. They will be joined by three script-consultant trainees from Greece, Hungary and Belgium.

After Trieste, the second workshop will be organised in Slovakia in April, while the selected projects will be presented, after their third workshop, at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in July 2020, as part of the Works in Development – Feature Launch event. After this presentation, the main financial KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award of €10,000 will be handed out.
