) and young Callie Ferreira-Goncalves. They’re further joined by Yamée Couture, Henri-Noël Tabary, Victor Lefebvre, Sébastien Pouderoux, Michel Zlotowski, Antonia Buresi, Marlène Saldana, Anne Berest, Marwen Okbi, Mireille Perrier and US filmmaker Frederick Wiseman.

Written by the director, the story revolves around Rachel who is 40 years old and has no children. She loves her life: her high school pupils, her friends, her exes, her guitar lessons… When she falls in love with Ali, she forms an attachment with Leila, Ali’s four-year-old daughter. She tucks her up in bed, looks after her and loves her as if she were her own. But loving other people’s children is a risky business…

Other People's Children is produced by Frédéric Jouve on behalf of Les Films Velvet, in co-production with France 3 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+, Ciné+ and France Télévisions, the feature film also benefits from a CNC advance on receipts, as well as support from the SOFICA companies Indéfilms, Cinécap and Cineventure. Photography comes courtesy of Georges Lechaptois while the film’s music is composed by ROB. Ad Vitam will manage the movie’s release in France on 21 September, with sales in the hands of Wild Bunch International.

For the record, Les Films Velvet won an award in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section in May by way of Lise Akoka and Romane Gueret’s The Worst Ones [+leggi anche:
