Presided over by Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz, the International Competition Jury of the 32nd FIDMarseille handed its 2021 Grand Prize to Haruhara San’s Recorder by Japanese director Kyoshi Sugita, which was further rewarded with an acting prize and an audience award. A Special Mention was bestowed upon Ted Fendt’s Outside Noise (produced by Germany, South Korea and Austria), while Irish director Declan Clarke’s work Saturn and Beyond also scooped a trophy, as did French actor Attila Meste de Segonzac for his performance in Jojo, directed by fellow Frenchman Antoni Collot.

In terms of the French competition (whose jury was headed up by Polish director Lech Kowalski), victory went to the medium-length work Lean on the Wall by Jacques Meilleurat, while Pénélope My Love [+leggi anche:

by Claire Doyon nabbed the National Georges de Beauregard Prize. Last but not least, an acting award was handed to Pierre-Édouard Dumora for his performance in his own film Le transformateur.
