), the story revolves around Max who is working on an entry for an architecture and landscaping competition for the city of Marseille. He feels confident, his project is bold but is something of a forerunner. The oral exam goes well. The town square garden finally begins to take shape, bringing radical change for the locals, but also for Max whose career is dangerously close to stagnation…

Produced by Frédéric Dubreuil on behalf of Envie de Tempête Productions, Beating Sun benefits from an advance on receipts from the CNC, as well as the support of France’s Sud region, the SOFICA companies Cinéaxe and Cinéventure, and Procirep & Angoa. The five-week film shoot will unfold from 8 June to 9 July in Marseille, with Pierre-Hubert Martin heading up photography and Christophe Couzon set design. Distribution in France and international sales will both be managed by Pyramide.
