The Málaga Film Festival Jury gave the official awards on Saturday and, as usual, one Golden Biznaga was given to the best Spanish film and another to the Best Latin American Film. In the first category, the Biznaga went to Aragonese filmmaker Pilar Palomero’s first feature film, which scooped the honour (and the €12,000) with a chronicle of the education received by a whole generation. will arrive at cinemas across Spain on Friday, 4 September. As for the Latin American category, the distinction (and the same amount) went to Mexico, country of origin of Summer White (Blanco de verano), filmed by Rodrigo Ruíz Patterson. The Jury for the Official Film Section for this 23rd edition comprised Álvaro Brechner, Adelfa Calvo, Álvaro Cervantes, Chus Gutiérrez and Pablo Remón.

, it was also crystal clear that she would not leave the festival empty-handed. Her comedy is doing well at the box office and has been given the Silver Biznaga –Special Jury Prize and the Silver Biznaga for Best Supporting actress for Nathalie Poza’s entertaining performance. Likewise, the masterly Arturo Ripstein has deservedly picked up the Best Director Biznaga for his latest film, a coproduction between Spain and Mexico entitled Devil Between the Legs [+leggi anche:

, in which he continues to show off his remarkable creativity. As for the remaining winners in the official section, it is worth noting the Best Female Performance award, which goes jointly to Kiti Mánver, who is outstandingly funny in One Careful Owner [+leggi anche:

, by Cuban filmmakers Patricia Pérez and Heidi Hassan. This coproduction between Cuba, Spain, France and Switzerland is emotionally far-reaching in its portrayal of the friendship and estrangement of two best friends.
