by Mehdi M. Barsaoui will this evening open a rather unique 21st edition of Music & Cinema, The Aubagne International Film Festival, which has chosen (and managed), in the face of the global health crisis, to organise and to transpose almost all of its programme online (over 80%, according to delegate general Gaëlle Rodeville) in record time.

by Hungary’s Béla Bagota and L’Échappée by France’s Mathias Pardo. A short film competition is also in the offing.

The films which the Festival has obtained authorisation to screen online (thanks to the great solidarity shown by the professionals involved, except for cases where rights have been blocked by different platforms) will be available to view for 24 hours via SVOD and free of charge on the date on which they were originally scheduled to screen. Online festival goers need simply create an account to gain access.

The guests of honour for this year’s edition – Canadian composer Howard Shore and the French director-actress Agnès Jaoui, alongside a number of other confirmed names (Dan Levy, Renaud and Éric Barbier, Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen, etc.) – will all be in attendance throughout the week via video link.

Last but not least, the many planned professional gatherings which are at the heart of the Music & Cinema Festival will all go ahead via video-conference, not least the European Market for Film Music Composition (a platform connecting directors-producers with composers in the context of film projects).
