Written by Pierre Lemaître (winner of a César Award in 2018 for Best Adaptation for See You Up There) and Perrine Margaine, the screenplay is set in Christmas 1999. Over the course of three days, in a peaceful little village in the Ardennes, the life of the young boy named Antoine is turned upside down by three tragic events: the death of the neighbours' brave dog, the disappearance of little Rémi Desmedt and the "storm of the century," which ravages everything in its path. The privileged witness of various events that gradually plunge his hometown into total confusion, Antoine will do everything he can to flee the town. But an entire life wouldn’t suffice to escape his terrible childhood memories.

Produced by Sidonie Dumas for Gaumont and Julien Colombani for Mahi Films (which is its first feature film), Three Days and a Life is co-produced by France 3 Cinéma, Ganapati, La Company de la Seine and the Belgian company Umedia. Filming took place exclusively in Belgium with local Manuel Dacosse (winner of the jury prize at San Sebastian in 2015 for Evolution [+leggi anche:
