, by Irene M Borrego, a non-fiction film about memory and forgetting, art and the female creative process, won the Best Feature Film Award (10,000 euros) at the twelfth edition of the IBAFF Murcia International Film Festival this weekend. The decision of the jury (made up of Cloe Masotta, Miguel Zozaya and Andreu Adam Rubiralta) emphasised "the way in which the filmmaker, through a living and transformative work process that structures the film, explores how two women of different generations approach their relationship with artistic creation, through a rich transition from the biographical to the autobiographical."

, by Lars Edman and William Johansson Kalen, a documentary co-produced by Sweden, Chile, Belgium and Norway, which tells the story of the investigation into the illegal dumping of toxic waste in the Chilean city of Arica and its consequences.

The Award for Best Short Film in the Official Selection (€6,000) went to Día en la nieve, by Paolo Natale from Murcia, awarded by the jury made up of actress Eva Llorach, Didac Palou and Raúl Liarte. A special mention was also awarded to We Love Life by Hana Vojackova (UK), while the Audience Award went to Virtual Voice by Suzannah Mirghani (Sudan/Qatar).

In the Official Murcia Panorama Section -a new section to give more visibility to local audiovisual works - the winning film was Karim, by Gonzalo Ballester, which touches on the protagonist's last months in Spain and how the dream of a better life is a long way off. Its Jury (made up of Lourdes Pérez Izquierdo, Sonia Marcos and Felipe Rodríguez) felt that it should be the winning piece "for its ability to tell a whole life story in 29 minutes". In addition, within this Murcia section, Movibeta awarded a distribution trophy to the short film 82 cosas que tengo, by Pedro Manuel García.

The IBAFF Youth Award - voted for by students from secondary schools in the Murcia region - went to Farrucas, a short film by Ian de la Rosa about four teenagers from a suburb of Almería who share Moroccan-Spanish roots and face their first experiences outside their own environment.

Finally, the Catalan Albert Serra (who competed at the last Cannes festival with Pacifiction [+lire aussi :
