After the first session of this year’s Mediterranean Film Institute Script 2 Film Workshops took place on Nisyros and online from 2-16 July (see the news), the script and project development training initiative is now running its second residential session, this time on Rhodes, from 10-17 October. It should be noted that the majority of the participants are attending physically on location, always following all of the necessary health-and-safety protocols put in place by Greece and the EU.

Among the highlights of the programme is the lecture “Conceiving the Concept for a Series” by Belgian writer and tutor Michel Sabbe, while established project development expert Isabelle Fauvel will be revealing everything one needs to know about project development. At the same time, a series of screenings of the participants’ short films will further strengthen networking and collaboration, in a year marked by COVID-19 and social distancing. The session will conclude with a pitching ceremony, the first physical one to be held during this year’s workshops.

The whole programme is taking place in the Medieval City of Rhodes, a historical UNESCO World Heritage site. More specifically, the group sessions, meetings, lectures and screenings will be hosted at the Inn of Spanish and Portuguese Language (Inn of Spain) and the Inn of French Language (Consulate of France on Rhodes).

The MFI’s Script 2 Film Workshops are supported by the Creative Europe - MEDIA programme, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT SA), the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME SA), the Secretariat General for the Aegean and Island Policy, and the municipalities of Nisyros and Rhodes.
