South Jutland-born director Frelle Petersen is now preparing his second endeavour, a family drama entitled Forever [+lire aussi :

, was nominated for the 2020 Nordic Council Film Prize and won the Grand Prix at the 2019 Tokyo Film Festival. The news was first reported by nordiskfilmogtvfond.com.

The story of Forever is set in the helmer’s native small town of Tønder, Southern Jutland, and focuses on a couple, Maren and Egon, who lead a quiet existence in their yellow brick house and enjoy their daily activities with their two adult children, until an unbearable tragedy changes their lives forever.

Forever is being produced by Jonas Bagger for Danish outfit Zentropa in cooperation with Xee, TV2 Danmark, Norway’s TV2 Norge and Mer Film Distribution, and Nordisk Film Distribution. It also received support from the Nordisk Film & TV Fond, the Danish Film Institute, the municipality of Tønder and the West Danish Film Fund. The Danish release is set for early 2022.
