Written by Matteo Garrone’s faithful collaborator Massimo Gaudioso, together with Fabio Natale, Anita Otto and Vannucci himself, Delta depicts a clash between poachers and fishermen in the Po Delta National Park. Osso (Lo Cascio) wants to protect the river from the irresponsible fishing activities engaged in by the Florian family, who have fled the Danube. Standing alongside the Florian family, we find Elia (Borghi) who was born on these lands. Swept away by blind violence and a thirst for revenge, the two will go head-to-head, discovering who they really are in a duel which boasts no heroes.

Other names featuring in the cast of the film are Emilia Scarpati Fanetti, Greta Esposito, Marius Bizau, Denis Fasolo and Sergio Romano. Shooting will last around six weeks, unfolding in the Po Delta area in Emilia-Romagna and the Veneto, and in Romania’s Danube Delta region. The film’s photography comes courtesy of Matteo Vieille, the set design is by Laura Boni, costumes are by Valentina Rossi Mori, make-up is that of Roberto Pastore, hair is by Donatella Borghesi and editing is in the hands of Francesco Di Stefano.

Delta is produced by Matteo Rovere on behalf of Groenlandia (whose work can currently be found on Netflix in the form of Sydney Sibilia’s Rose Island [+lire aussi :
