Owing to the pandemic, this year's European Film Awards will not take place as planned in Reykjavik, but will instead be presented as a series of virtual events — "the EFAs at Eight" – from 8 to 12 December, streaming live from Berlin.

Celebrations kick off on Tuesday 8 December with the panel "From Survival to Revival: Building the Post-Covid Future", bringing together speakers including British director Mark Cousins, recipient of the new EFA Award for Innovative Storytelling for his ground-breaking documentary Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema [+lire aussi :

The first awards are handed out on Wednesday 9 December. Starting from 8pm, the winners of The EFA Excellence Awards were revealed, in the categories European Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Costume Design, Make-up & Hair, Original Score, Sound and Visual Effects

On Thursday 10 December the winners are revealed in the categories of Eurimages Co-Production Award, European Short Film and European University Film Award (EUFA).

Friday 11 December sees the unveiling of the winners in the categories European Comedy and European Animated Feature Film.

Finally, the winners of the EFA Awards for Innovative Storytelling, European Documentary, European Discovery, European Actress, European Actor, European Screenwriter, European Director and European Film were revealed on Saturday 12 December. The three films nominated for the brand-new LUX European Audience Film Award were also unveiled (see the news).
