“At such a unique time for all of us, and for our sector in particular, getting a big international co-production back up and running again is a challenge, but it’s also a good sign, I hope, for Italian film”, the director affirmed.

Breaking Up in Rome, whose title is the name of a well-known song by Niccolò Fabi, promises to be a romantic comedy exploring how complicated it is to separate after so many years spent cohabiting. “It’s a story that I’ve wanted to tell as a director for years”, Leo explained as he announced the first slam of the clapperboards on social media, “and now we’re finally doing it”. The screenplay was penned by Edoardo Leo alongside Marco Bonini, Damiano Bruè and Lisa Riccardi.
