The tenth edition of the Marché du Film Goes to Cannes initiative is all set to unspool its new selection. This year, five international film festivals and markets from Europe, Asia and South America will showcase their selections of projects that are currently at various stages of post-production, and are still seeking a sales agent, distributor or festival selection.

The Goes to Cannes sessions will run from 20-23 May, and these carefully curated selections will be presented at two-hour pitching sessions alongside talented teams who will introduce their films in front of an audience of industry professionals.

Among the festivals joining in with this edition are the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival from Estonia, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival from Greece, the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), NFDC Film Bazaar from India, and SANFIC Industria – Santiago International Film Festival. It should be underlined that the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has decided to dedicate its complete selection to Ukrainian works in progress that have yet to find sales representation.

Jérôme Paillard, executive director of the Marché du Film, commented: “As film festivals around the world continue to face unprecedented challenges and changes, we are coming together to bring positive change to the film industry. We are proud to offer these major festivals and markets the opportunity to help filmmakers reach global audiences. With Goes to Cannes, we also wish to show our appreciation to these festivals and markets for their relentless efforts to develop cinema and support creativity. I am especially happy to welcome SANFIC Industria, which will be joining us physically in Cannes for the first time this year, and commend the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival for choosing to devote its entire selection to Ukrainian cinema.”
