El Producers Club de Cannes acoge el lanzamiento de Coprocity

Este artículo está disponible en inglés.

Coprocity is a new professional online platform entirely dedicated to film and TV projects presented at selected co-production markets. The team behind the Les Arcs Film Festival and FestiCiné has conceived, designed and developed the new tool, which aims to keep decision makers and project holders in touch and communicating after the end of an industry event, and enable them to keep an eye on the status of their progress. Coprocity has officially just been launched at the Producers Club during Cannes’ Marché du Film.

As a concept, Coprocity will offer increased visibility to curated projects after their presentation at co-production markets and will facilitate discussions about the next steps and upon reaching completion. In this way, industry professionals will have access to a proper catalogue that not only contains the presented projects, but also includes updates on them, as a system of notifications can advise users about them.

These updates will come directly from the project holders, who have permanent access to their project, and they also have the ability to share its main elements, such as its treatment, script, budget, financing plan, casting and so on, directly through the platform. It is important to underline that the project holders have complete control over whom they share each element with. The platform also gives the co-production markets themselves the chance to have their own pages, where all of the selected projects are showcased – not only those from the current edition, but also those from previous years that are still in progress.

Coprocity was conceived using a wealth of previous expertise and in line with the positive feedback received for FestiCiné, the online management software and database allowing festival teams to manage their festivals from A to Z (see the interview). Its aim is to become a major project database for the film industry.

Eleven co-production markets are already on board for the launch, including Cannes’ L’Atelier of the Cinéfondation, La Fabrique Cinéma of the Institut français, the Les Arcs Film Festival Industry Village, Meeting Point Vilnius, connecting cottbus, Thessaloniki International Film Festival Agora, Baltic Event, TorinoFilmLab, When East Meets West, Sofia Meetings and the Norwegian International Film Festival Haugesund New Nordic Films. All of the project holders selected at the two most recent editions of these markets will have the possibility to have their projects included on the platform.

For the first few years, Coprocity will be free for all users (save for a few premium options), and access will only be granted to established professionals who have participated in one of the partnering markets or who are invited specifically by the team. Initially, the platform will focus on cinema projects and, starting later on in 2021, will also include TV, animation, and other projects and markets.

Coprocity was developed by SAS Le Village, with the support of the Aide à l’Innovation RIAM (CNC/BPI) and the Creative Europe – MEDIA programme. Cinando, Festival Scope and Cineuropa are also partners of the platform.
