In the eighth and final episode of the second season of EAVE IMPACT ONE-TO-ONE (see the news), Birgit Oberkofler, head of IDM Film Fund & Commission in Bolzano, in the South Tyrol/Alto Adige region of Italy and former funding consultant, along with production lawyer Pierre-Emmanuel Mouthuy, founder of the Brussels-based law firm Mouthuy Avocats, dedicated to the entertainment industry, offer their insights on funding and co-production laws.

Focusing mostly on the funder’s point of view, Oberkofler offers an overview of what is needed, checked and required in the financing plans for an upcoming co-production. She also mentions the limitations and other regulations regarding an application coming from foreign producers, since people can apply to her fund directly. She also talks about the way a producer can be evaluated based on their application. The two experts also discuss the differences between various regional funds and the way they talk to each other about the projects they receive. On that point, Oberkofler suggests that the guidelines should be unified and that ideally, in the near future, it should be possible to enter the data only once and make the application visible to all funds.
