The Components of Love, de Miriam Bliese

Este artículo está disponible en inglés.

Heavily pregnant Sophie has been abandoned by her boyfriend. She then meets and falls in love with Georg, and together with her newborn, Jakob, they will form a patchwork family that is forced to face all of the challenges of modern parenting. A few years later, Georg and Sophie have split up, and they are fighting for Jakob’s custody while Sophie’s new partner tries to mediate between them. In fragmented scenes that all take place in front of the same apartment building in Berlin, the film paints the elliptical portrait of a modern patchwork family and takes a laconic look at the everyday irrationality of love.

). Düsseldorf-based Patra Spanou – Film Marketing & Consulting has snapped up the movie and will handle its international sales.

Patra Spanou commented: “Miriam Bliese’s debut is a solid work of film art yet is still open to a broader audience. A film about how la vie en rose can turn into grey, enriched with charming dialogues and cheesy schlager songs. Regardless of how this love finally ends, the viewer will leave the cinema with a smile on their face.”

On this collaboration, Josephine Aleyt, of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin, underlined: "The dffb is very happy to be working with Patra Spanou on The Components of Love. We are very fond of her work and her excellent expertise in promoting independent cinema internationally. We are sure that she will do a great job worldwide for this film."

The Components of Love was produced by the German Film and Television Academy Berlin in co-production with Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) and Miriam Bliese & Clemens Köstlin.
