The Visions du Réel festival in Nyon has made its mark as one of the biggest film markets in Europe. This new edition doesn’t disappoint, with a rich and carefully selected offering of films hailing from all corners of the globe.

For sixteen years now, the Visions du Réel festival has provided documentary film professionals from all over the world with a space for working, for networking and for reflection. Producers, directors, distributors, international vendors, and representatives of television broadcasters, institutions and festivals all come together in Nyon to discuss the current and potential future state of this booming film genre, with the aim of fostering partnerships, co-productions or distribution strategies, regardless of the various stages of development of the selected projects. Through the activities on offer - training programmes, pitching opportunities, individual meetings with special guest experts and professionals – the festival hopes to encourage ongoing support for the creation and promotion of cinéma du réel.

The section Pitching du Réel will see 15 projects (full-length films) that are currently in the development/production phase discussed during round tables and individual meetings with potential partners, buyers, vendors, TV programmers, producers, distributors and financial backers. Among these feature numerous European films: Aunts by Sejla Kameric, Mirjana Karanovic, Kim Longinotto and Andrea Staka (Serbia/Switzerland/France/Bulgaria/Bosnia and Herzegovina) which tackles the vital subject of the role accorded to women in contemporary society; Austral, a Belgian-French co-production by Benjamin Colaux; the Danish film Don’t Give a Fox by Kaspar Astrup Schröder, a full-length film on adolescence, identity, love and skateboarding; the French production Jukaï; The Green Sea by Akihiro Hata; My English Cousin [+lee también:
