Everlasting Moments leads Guldbagge nominations

received the most nominations – eight – for the 2008 Guldbagge Awards (Sweden’s top film honours), to be given out in Stockholm on January 12.

The European co-production between Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany is running in all feature film categories: Best Film, Director, Screenplay (co-written by Troell, his wife Agneta Ulfsåter and Niklas Rådström), actress (Finland’s Maria Heiskanen), Actor (Mikael Persbrandt), Supporting Actress (Amanda Ooms), Supporting Actor (Jesper Christiensen) and Cinematography (Troell and Mischa Gvrjusjov).

The sweeping drama is also in the running for a Golden Globe in the Best Foreign Film category, and is Sweden’s entry at the Oscars 2009. TrustNordisk handles world sales.

The second most nominated titles are Tomas Alfredson’s vampire film Let the Right One In [+see also:

, voted in five categories each, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay (John Ajvide Lindqvist and Östlund, respectively).

Ella Lemhagen’s romcom Patrik Age 1.5 is nominated for Best Leading Actor (Gustaf Skarsgård) and Best Supporting Actor (Torkel Petersson), while the female leads of the chamber piece Heaven's Heart [+see also:

, by Denmark’s Simon Staho, are also vying for Guldbagges: Lena Endre (Best Actress) and Maria Lundqvist (Best Supporting Actress).

Three films are competing for Best Foreign Language Film: Ang Lee’s Lust, Caution, the Coen brothers’ No Country for Old Men and Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood.
