In addition, Scanbox will release Studiocanal’s upcoming productions, including Lynne Ramsay’s Stone Mattress (starring Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh as Verna and Grace, respectively) and Studiocanal’s first Australian-New Zealand production, Kangaroo, a family comedy inspired by the true story of The Kangaroo Sanctuary founder Chris “Brolga” Barns, with Kate Woods at the helm.

In detail, the agreement was negotiated by Torben Thorup Jørgensen, commercial director at Scanbox Entertainment, and Studiocanal’s head of International Sales, Chloé Marquet, as well as Studiocanal reps Marta Monjanel (VP of International Sales) and Olga Heinz (Business and Legal Affairs).

Commenting on the output deal, Marquet said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Scanbox and to develop a relationship across an exciting line-up. Scanbox is a leading distributor in the region, with an eclectic and tasteful style that matches Studiocanal’s, and we’re certain it will be a great partner.”

Scanbox Entertainment’s CEO, Thor Sigurjonsson, has welcomed the new partnership, adding that the Nordic company is “looking forward to working with Studiocanal, a European powerhouse of film and distribution, which has a history of delivering quality films to the global market.”
