Written by the director together with Noé Debré and Emily Barnett, the story of Spirit of Ectasy unfolds in present-day Corbeil-Essonnes. Jeanne Francoeur is 24 years old. She lives in a dilapidated gendarmerie barracks. The daughter of a gendarme who has been beaten by life and the eldest of three children for whom she herself is responsible, Jeanne has banked on making a living in the world of finance, not for glory’s sake or for a life of luxury, but because it has helped her to escape the shackles of her background and to win her freedom… Production is entrusted to Justin Taurand on behalf of Les Films du Bélier.
