Shooting is underway in London on Greatest Days, based on the hit stage musical The Band and featuring music from British supergroup Take That. The jukebox musical with a book by Tim Firth had its theatrical world premiere at the Manchester Opera House in 2017, before transferring to London’s West End. It is now being adapted for the screen for a 2023 release.

UK-based Elysian Film Group’s Greatest Days has been developed with the full support of Universal Music Group and Take That. Karl Spoerri and Viviana Vezzani’s SPG3, the Swiss and LA-based motion picture and entertainment group founded in 2020, is on board to finance and produce. Elysian Film Group’s UK distribution label will release the film in the UK. Bron Releasing is handling worldwide sales and US distribution.

Previously, Spoerri and Vezzani ran the Zurich Film Festival’s film program and popular industry event Zurich Summit for 15 years, where they formed strong talent and industry relationships. They stepped down from their roles at the end of 2019 after selling the festival to the NZZ media group. They said, “We are thrilled to become a part of Greatest Days, a truly heart-warming tale of female friendship, and equally excited to be working with the amazing creative team behind it.”

A feel-good universal story of love and friendship, Greatest Days follows five best friends who have the night of their lives at a concert from their favourite boy band. Twenty-five years later, their lives have changed in a myriad of ways as they reunite to reminisce about their past and discover their future.
