Stealing focus among the various series gracing the showcase is Diane de Poitiers, a Passion Films production offered in two formats (2 x 100' and 4 x 52'), sold by France tv distribution and boasting an impressive cast dominated by Isabelle Adjani and further enhanced by Hugo Becker, Samuel Labarthe, Virginie Ledoyen, Gaia Girace, Jeanne Balibar, JoeyStarr, Olivier Bonnaud, Jacques Spiesser, Olivier Gourmet, Jean-François Balmer, Gérard Depardieu, Michel Fau, Julie Depardieu, Guillaume Gallienne and Sofia Ernst. Written by Didier Decoin and directed by Josée Dayan, the series revolves around Diane de Poitiers who was French king Henry II’s favourite for twenty years. A woman of character and legendary beauty, Diane is nonetheless only a courtesan and her position at court remains fragile. Can the passion she shares with Henry who is twenty years her junior really last forever?

Equally appealing on the pitching agenda are two series sold by fledging company Have a Good One: there’s the 6 x 45' work Elle’s Kitchen, produced by Cinétévé and 24 25 Films, which homes in on a talented, young French-Senegalese chef (played by Annabelle Lengronne) whose restaurant is taken over by dubious associates who organise secret poker games; meanwhile, the 6 x 45' opus Marion, produced by Nolita and Darklight Content, is adapted from the detective novels penned by former police captain Danielle Thiéry and is toplined by Louise Monot.

Next Coming From France will also be presenting Vortex (6 x 52'), produced by Quad Drama and sold by France tv distribution, which is a fantasy thriller blending family drama, an impossible love and a sci-fi detective story. The series is based upon an original idea by novelist Franck Thilliez and stars Tomer Sisley in the lead.

Likewise set for the spotlight is 3PU, a 6 x 52' work produced by Storia Television and sold by Mediawan Rights. Written by Jean-Christophe Grangé (The Crimson Rivers), the story revolves around a crime-based mystery and takes us to the heart of the Paris Police Headquarters’ Psychiatric Hospital. The medical chief and his team only have 24 hours to assess their troubled patients before allowing them to resume their everyday lives, hospitalising them… or handing them over to the police.
