Each year, the Breton writing coaching scheme supports eight fiction projects (live action and animation) by French-speaking scriptwriters and filmmakers. For the lucky ones, four collective work sessions in residence by the sea in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages (Finistère) are on the menu from April to December.

But there is a big change this year: the programme, which was previously reserved for first, second and third feature films, is now open to all authors. A change that Charlotte Le Vallégan (who runs the West group with Antoine Le Bos) explained to us: "The Groupe Ouest has existed for 15 years now. At the beginning, it was a question of setting up a particular approach and through successive experiments and iterations, we have matured our profession and our support for authors. We believe that this logic of mutual aid based on how authors, within a collective, can finally take their respective projects to the next level, is not necessarily only reserved for emergence. This is why we wanted to open the door to filmmakers who have more than three feature films to their credit so that, if they so wish, they can come and take part in this type of experience."

The call for projects for the 2022 Annual Selection is open until 26 November 2021. Professionals wishing to learn more can register here for a Zoom presentation of the scheme and a Q&A session on Wednesday 17 November at 17:00.
