The debut film by Michael Van Ostade, The Ghastly Brothers [+see also:

film profile], will be released theatrically in Belgium on 3 November by youth film organisation JEF. The story, penned by the director himself together with his brother Andrew Van Ostade, begins when quirky Lilith (played by newcomer Eva Luna Van Hijfte) meets the professional paranormal detectives known as the Ghastly Brothers at her new boarding school. Thrown into a world of ghouls and ghosts, she ends up immersed in her own haunted adventure, solving her personal problems and those of her friends.
The Ghastly Brothers has been described as “a film about the little dark monsters in all of us” and “a fantastical adventure flick for the entire family”.
The feature is being produced by Thomas Leyers for Belgium’s Minds Meet in co-production with Rotterdam-based outfit Volya Films. Its international sales are handled by Dutch Features.
