), the story revolves around Youssef Salem, a novelist of Maghrebi origin who enjoys sudden, meteoric success following the publication of his book based on his family. But this success comes at a price… Whilst the right-thinking, Parisian literary circuit labels him a model of integration, others see him as a traitor. Transformed, in spite of himself, into the spokesperson for a cause which isn’t actually his, Youssef does everything he can to escape the pigeon-holes which others try to force him into…

The (in)famous Youssef Salem is produced by Stéphanie Bermann and Alex Dulguerian on behalf of Domino Films, in co-production with France 2 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film enjoys support in the form of an advance on receipts, as well as backing from the Sud and the Pays de Martigues regions. Distribution in France will be handled by Tandem and international sales by Charades.

For the record, Domino Films will be releasing Une femme du monde [+see also:
