The Venice Gap-Financing Market selects 57 projects from all around the world
Director Wim Wenders, whose project The Secret of Places has been selected

A total of 57 projects are set to be presented during this year’s three-day Venice Gap-Financing Market whose eighth edition will unspool between 3 and 5 September, as organised by Venice Production Bridge, within the wider context of the 78th Venice Film Festival. The market dedicated to projects hailing from all corners of the globe and in the final phases of development and funding - whose teams can secure outstanding finance by way of one-to-one meetings with international sector professionals - will welcome 30 feature film projects to the Lido, both works of fiction (10 European and 13 international) and documentaries (2 European, including Wim Wenders’ latest work, and 5 international).

The event will also screen 13 Virtual Reality Immersive Story projects (10 European and 3 international), in the form of fiction films, documentaries, animated films and other interactive installation experiences; 11 Biennale College – Virtual Reality projects, which were developed during the fifth edition of the Biennale College Cinema VR workshop and are at different stages of development; and 3 Biennale College Cinema projects, which were developed during the first workshop of Biennale College Cinema’s nineth edition, and which have since reached different stages of development and pre-production.

The Venice Gap-Financing Market will host one-to-one meetings between the 57 project teams (each composed of the producer and the director) and industry professionals vested with decision-making power (producers, private and public investors, banks, distributors, sales agents, TV networks, web and video platforms, institutions and post-production companies).

The Book of Projects containing detailed information on each of the projects, will be sent by email to film industry professionals so as to give them the opportunity to organise bespoke, half-hour meetings with the producers of the selected projects, via the Venice Production Bridge website.
