As part of the hybrid edition of the Cannes Marché du Film, the ninth edition of the Goes to Cannes initiative is all set to unspool its selection. This year, five international film festivals and markets from Europe, Asia and South America will showcase their selection of a total of 26 projects that are currently at the post-production stage.

The Goes to Cannes sessions will run from 9-12 June, and these curated selections will be presented at two-hour pitching sessions in Cannes. The online participants will be able to attend these sessions virtually, as they will be screened over the internet in their local time zone.

Among the festivals joining in with this edition are three regular participants, the New Horizons International Film Festival from Poland, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival from Greece and the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), while Tallinn Black Nights will join for the first time as part of the PÖFF’s 25th-birthday celebrations, along with SANFIC Industria – Santiago International Film Festival.

Jérôme Paillard, executive director of the Marché du Film, commented: “We are thrilled to be back in Cannes and to launch the first hybrid edition of the Marché du Film this year, raring to give both on-site and online participants the best Marché experience possible. We are proud to welcome these five festival partners and offer them the opportunity to reach their audience, in Cannes or online!”
