Thessaloniki announces its Agora Docs in Progress titles

Ten film projects that are currently in post-production, and which hail from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region, will be featured in the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival’s Agora Docs in Progress. This year’s iteration will be presented on Monday 28 June, and the projects will be seen by Thessaloniki’s invited industry professionals, encompassing sales agents, distributors, producers and festival programmers.

The participating projects will be in with a chance of winning one of the Agora Docs in Progress post-production awards: the 2|35 post-production company offers the main DiP Award for post-production services, the MuSou company offers a prize for music and sound services, and the Greek Film Centre offers an award of €3,000 in cash, while Neaniko Plano will present an award for subtitling in English or French.

Furthermore, five Greek projects that are currently at the post-production stage will participate in the Agora Lab, a complementary section to Docs in Progress that aims to support the local film industry. The teams behind the selected films have the chance to gain invaluable guidance and advice from the tutors: Cecilie Bolvinkel, consultant and producer at Rough Cut Service; producer Eleni Chandrinou; and editor-director Gregoris Rentis (BYRD). The programme coordinator is Antigoni Papantoni, a consultant at CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator. The tutors will present one project with the Guidance Award offered by Denmark’s Paradiddle Pictures.
