Produced by Frédéric Dubreuil for Envie de tempête Productions (which is partnering with the director for the sixth time on a feature of his), Thick and Thin has been pre-purchased by Ciné+ and has secured backing from the CNC’s advance on receipts, and from the Hauts-de-France (via Pictanovo) and Normandy regions. The 29-day shoot took place in Amiens and the Seine Maritime department, with Romain Le Bonniec in charge of the cinematography. The French distribution will be handled by Rezo Films.

As a reminder, Envie de tempête Productions recently won the 2021 César Award for Best Short Film with So What If the Goats Die by Sofia Alaoui. The Paris-based outfit also has A demain mon amour by Basile Carré-Agostini in post-production, which will be distributed by Jour2Fête. Also supported by the CNC’s advance on receipts and the Ile-de-France region, among other sources, this documentary centres on Monique and Michel, a couple of upper-class sociologists, who spend a lot of time in their detached house decked with flowers in the Parisian suburbs.
