Written by the filmmaker himself, the story follows in the footsteps of Labidi, a struggling young writer who is trying to publish his first novel after enjoying a minor hit with a short story. Between living in a small room with his roommate and best friend Aleksei and working as a Deliveroo driver to survive, he meets a student called Elisa. Caught up in their whirlwind romance, Labidi decides to rent an apartment far beyond their means. He soon finds himself faced with the costs of real life, calling his desire to write into question…

Selected for the Belfort Entrevues Film Festival’s Work in Progress section in November last year, The World After Us is produced by Olivier Capelli on behalf of Les Idiots and is co-produced by Laurent Rochette for 21 juin Cinéma. International sales are entrusted to Be For Films.
