“It’s a film about the need for equality, harmony between men and women, family and self-realisation, and – above all – about the freedom to be who you want to be and to choose your own sexual identity,” the director told Cineuropa. The plot of the film has not yet been revealed, but the producers hint at Lipstick on the Glass being, at least to some extent, a road movie. At the moment, they are only sharing a logline: “Emeryka loses control of her life through the intrigue of a mysterious character named ‘The Something’ and is led to an adventurous escape to a female sect, for which she has to leave her daughter behind.”

The principal cast includes Polish actress Agnieszka Podsiadlik (Mug [+see also:

Czekaj’s film was financially supported by the Polish Film Institute, Bundesregierung fur Kultur und Medien (BKM), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Lower Silesia Film Fund, Polish-German Film Fund and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM). The production benefited from Polish and German financial incentives. The film's theatrical release is scheduled for autumn 2021. German distributor is W-Film.
