Bored with people of her age, 16-year-old Suzanne becomes obsessed with an older man whom she meets while passing a theatre on her way to high school. Despite the age gap, they find in each other a solution to their ennui and fall in love. Nevertheless, Suzanne starts to be afraid that she’s actually missing out on life, the life she should be living at her age, which she had struggled so much to enjoy in the same way as her peers.

This very personal story of adolescence presented by writer-director-actor Suzanne Lindon in her debut feature, Spring Blossom [+see also:

, was given the Cannes Film Festival Official Selection label and is set to world-premiere in the Discovery section of the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. The script was written by Lindon, the daughter of famed French actors Sandrine Kiberlain and Vincent Lindon, when she was 15 years old, the summer before she started high school, while she also plays the main role alongside Arnaud Valois, who co-stars. The rest of the cast includes Florence Viala, Frédéric Pierrot and Rebecca Marder.

Spring Blossom was produced by Caroline Bonmarchand for Avenue B Productions, chiefly with the support of the Ile-de-France region. French outfit Luxbox handles the world sales, while it will be released in France on 9 December by Paname Distribution.
