The Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT SA) has announced that it is supporting 33 Greek and international co-productions during its latest round of financing. This is the first slate of funding announced by the new board of directors, which was appointed soon after the latest national parliamentary elections. The support granted amounts to €2,205,000, in accordance with the rule that broadcasters should allocate 1.5% of their gross income to Greek cinema. The selection comprises 21 feature-length fiction titles, eight documentaries and four film projects with a limited budget.

Among the selected fiction projects are the third features by Spiros Stathoulopoulos (Meteora [+see also:

), Woman With the Gun (Argonauts Productions); and Nicholas Dimitropoulos (Alter Ego), Echoes of the Past (Foss Productions). In addition, the sophomore directorial effort by German-based scriptwriter Daphne Charizani, Sisters Apart [+see also:

(Viewmaster Films), will receive support, as will the newest fiction feature by documentarian Eleni Alexandraki, Giannis in the Cities (Eleni Alexandraki), and Alexandros Voulgaris’ (aka The Boy) latest film, Winona [+see also:

by Asimina Proedrou (Argonauts Productions) and The Detached House by Ioakim Mylonas (Argonauts Productions) – have been selected as well. Also, acclaimed Irish actress and theatre and opera director Fiona Shaw is being supported for her feature The Journey (Argonauts Productions).

Apart from the ten aforementioned feature-length fiction projects, the rest of the titles that will share the total grant of €1,610,000 are Luger by Konstantinos Charalambous (Konstantinos Charalambous), Graffiti Stories by Antonis Kokkinos (Argonauts Productions), .Dog [+see also:

(working title: Brothers) by Yianna Americanou (Viewmaster Films), Minister of the Night by Manousos Manousakis (Viewmaster Films), Grassland by Yianna Dellatolla (Boo Productions), Me Flos Royal by Kostas Katsaropoulos (Panagiotis Kakavias), 18 by Vasilis Douvlis (Panagiotis Kakavias), Orea Skoni Ton Astron by Stratoula Theodoratou (Stratoula Theodoratou), Far.Go.Bots by Angelos Tsaousis (Filmografik Productions), Pou Petoun Ta Paidia? by Giorgos Zervas (Giorgos Zervas Film Productions) and Roots by Eliza Soroga (Blonde SA).

Furthermore, the four projects with a limited budget that have received ERT support of €200,000 are Virtual Reality by Vangelis Seitanidis (Viewmaster Films), Mikres Asimantes Istories by Makis Moraitis (Videofactory), Ena Chrysopsaro Thymatai by Theophilos Papastylianos (Theophilos Papastylianos), and Frugal Abundance by Giorgos Savoglou and Frantzeska Romanou (Neda Film).

Finally, several documentaries are being supported to the tune of €395,000, and the feature-length projects are Pontus by Pantelis Kalatzis (CSP Showtime), Christ is Recrucified by Theo Papadoulakis (Indigo View Productions), Pente Fores Ksenos by Vangelis Efthymiou (Land Art Productions), Where Art Thou? by Dimitris Athiridis (Faliro House Productions), 2052 by Hristos Karakepelis (Homemade Films), Sharia in Greece by Alexis Pilos (Zero Zero Productions), I Proika by Lydia Konsta (Lydia Konsta) and Cage Survivor by Irina Boiko (Technofasi/Art Space Asomaton).
