3D Wire, Animation, Videogames and New Media Market kicks off in the beautiful city of Segovia this Thursday, 3 October 2019, and is set to run until Sunday 6 October. This international event offers a packed schedule of talks, seminars, round table discussions, coaching sessions, project presentations and screenings. This year, there’s a catalogue of 153 projects to choose from: 18 feature films, 30 short films, 27 animated series, 27 video games and 10 International transmedia projects, plus 41 international web series. The selected projects will form the basis for a series of presentations and talks, with the latest developments in animation and video games stealing much of the limelight.

A number of Spanish and Portuguese feature film projects will be on show, including: ¿Vida en Marte?, by Dani Gallardo; Cazatalentos, by José Herrera and Manuel Sirgo (in association with production companies 12 Pinguinos Dibujos Animados and Cazatalentos Producciones); My Grandfather's Demons [+see also:

, by Víctor Monigote and Eduardo Gondell (Tandem Films), first unveiled at this year’s San Sebastián International Film Festival; Gus, el Perro Guía, by Bruno Simoes (WKND); Islas de fuego, by Josemi de Alonso (Scriptfighter); Leoner e Ebrahim, by Humberto Santana (Animanostra) and Mr Lonely, by Maxi Díaz (3 Doubles Producciones).

The line-up of full-length films also features: Muna, ojos de luna, by Celia González Blázquez; Princess of Elymia, by Silvio Toledo and José María Molina (Digital Mind - Stairs P.A.); Quiero ser un tonto feliz, by José Corral (Capitán Araña, Aquí y Allí Films, Animoon); Save the Tree, by Iker Álvarez and Haizea Pastor (Baleuko, Tortuga Studios, Polarestudios); La sierra del dragón, by Pepe Sánchez (La Fiesta); Steve & Jacob, by Esteban Martín and Nacho La Casa (Capitán Araña); Tao, by Esther Casas Roura (Claymaniak and Apemanstudio); Valentina, by Chelo Loureiro (Ábano Produccions) and El viaje imposible, by Abraham López Guerrero (El Viaje Imposible P.C.S.L.).

With over 1,000 participants, highlights among the treasure trove of events on offer at this eleventh edition of 3D Wire include the chance to meet the director of the ICAA, Beatriz Navas, who will be in Segovia on Friday 4 October along with the organisation’s director of marketing, Tito Rodríguez, to talk about the results of Spain’s participation in the Pixelati Festival in Cuernavaca (Mexico) — the most important animation marketplace in Latin America.

Meanwhile, this year’s selection for 3D Wire Fest includes 41 short films, 32 of which are competing in the international competition while 9 are competing nationally. Overall, a total of twenty countries across the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania are represented among the projects vying to take home one of the prizes awarded by the jury and the public.
