MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2020 calls for script consultants
- Three script-consultant trainees will be selected to join the process of developing nine projects at Feature Launch; the deadline for applications is 27 September
In addition to the call for projects for MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2020 (see the news), the training programme is inviting aspiring script consultants to apply and join in with the development process.
Three selected trainees will be trained by both their mentor, who will supervise their entire learning process, and Feature Launch tutors, in order to understand the different approaches and strategies they use while developing feature-film projects.
The trainees will attend the two residential workshops in Trieste in January and in the Czech Republic/Slovakia in April, plus the project showcase at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, along with the Feature Launch participants.
Each trainee is assigned to a group of projects and works closely with the script-consulting tutor and the participants on the development of their scripts. In addition, the trainees regularly meet their trainee mentor and review their learning progress.
Through this process, the trainees become acquainted with the script and development aspects of developing a film project, enhance their communication skills in the creative process and, most importantly, learn how to give constructive feedback to the teams in order to help them move forward with their development. They witness the different stages of development that the projects go through up to the final presentation at Karlovy Vary.
