The 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (6-16 September) has announced its full line-up after revealing the Discovery programme, which this year has increased its selection, reaching the highest ever number of 51 titles by first- or second-time filmmakers from all around the world.

In the programme, which aims to promote and suggest new and emerging filmmakers to the whole world, the European presence is once again highly impressive, as 55% of the selected titles (28 films) are European productions or co-productions - ten more than the last edition - with most of them having their world premieres, while many are being presented to North American audiences for the first time.

Also, this year, TIFF has a relatively modest line-up on a par with last year, with 255 feature films set to be screened, 138 of which as world, 22 as international and 72 as North American premieres.
