The plot, written by Olivares together with Chema Rodríguez (Night Falls in India [+see also:

) and María Jesús Petrement, depicts how Tocho (Keuchkerian) and Jean Pierre (Reno) decide to go and pay their friend Joseba (Quique San Francisco) a visit in Mali after they find out that he has fallen ill. Reminiscing about the trips that all three of them used to embark on in the 1980s, crossing Africa in cars that they would then sell in Mali and Niger, they prepare to cross the Sahara with a Renault 4L still owned by Ely (Susana Abaitua), one of their daughters. It will be an adventure jam-packed with emotions and entertaining encounters, which will change all of their lives forever. The main cast is rounded off by actor, TV presenter, showman and producer Arturo Valls (The Tunnel Gang [+see also:

In the words of its director, Olivares: "The idea for this film was born of a trip I went on a while ago across the desert in a SEAT Panda: on that journey, I met some French guys who were taking second-hand cars down south. In this film, I wanted to somehow reflect the experiences that I’ve had on my trips through the Sahara.”

4 latas, the score for which is being composed by Pájaro Sunrise (Yuri Méndez), is a production by Wanda Visión (José María Morales, who will also oversee its distribution), Es.Docu (Larry Levene) and Cruzando el desierto AIE, and it can also boast involvement from RTVE. The editing will be handled by Domingo González (Perfectos desconocidos [+see also:
