As the European festival season nears its end, it’s time to train the spotlight on the other side of the pond. Besides the US awards season, which is already in full swing, the most important independent film gathering on the American continent has now unveiled the selection of movies for its 2018 edition. The Sundance Film Festival, which will take place from 18-28 January, will welcome an interesting selection of European films, mainly as part of its World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions.

The films selected for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition are mostly directed by newcomers, such as Iceland’s Isold Uggadottir (And Breathe Normally [+see also:
