, directed by debutant Serbian director Lazar Bodroža, written by Dimitrije Vojnov (the screenwriter of local hit Little Buddho, which sold around 300,000 admissions last year), and based on a short story by Zoran Nešković, is a sci-fi film featuring adult-movie star Stoya in her first non-porn role, and Slovenian actor Sebastian Cavazza (You Carry Me [+see also:

Set in the near future, Ederlezi Rising is the story of an astronaut sent on a long and dangerous intergalactic mission. During the flight, he falls in love with a female android accompanying him on the mission and starts believing that there is a real person inside the machine.

The film features gorgeous retro-futurist production design that makes a clear nod to the likes of Tarkovsky and other Soviet-era science-fiction films. The world of the film seems to point at a future in which Russia, India, China and North Korea are space powers. More can be seen on the film’s website

Principal photography was finished in December, and now the production company, Mir Media Group, is campaigning on indiegogo for $50,000 for post-production. The campaign can be found here.

Stoya, one of porn's most famous performers and the winner of two AVN Awards, is of Serbian origin (real name Jessica Stojadinović). Vojnov contacted her for a possible role in Maja Miloš' Clip [+see also:

, and although this collaboration never materialised, it helped attract her to this project. 

The team is hoping for a slot in Toronto's Midnight Madness, provided they are able to finish the film in time. They have also announced a sequel, in case the indiegogo campaign manages to raise $600,000.
