The Bulgarian National Film Center supports six features

The Bulgarian National Film Center has announced the winning projects of its second grant contest of 2015. The total amount given away was €2,564,103, divided among six features, several short films and a number of screenplays in development.

The feature projects are: The Spring Equinox, written by Krassimir Krumov and directed by Ivan Pavlov; The Catcher in the Dust, written by Konstantin Bojanov, Arnold Barkus and Pavel Vesnakov, and directed by Pavel Vesnakov; Once Upon a War, written by Vladi Kirov and directed by Anri Koulev; Signs (The Soul of the Violin), written by Borislav Kolev and directed by Yavor Gardev; Director of the Waterfall, written by Nevena Borisova and Svetoslav Draganov, and directed by Svetoslav Draganov; and Norma and a Swan, written by Milena Petrova and directed by Boris Nikolov (the only first feature supported by the centre).

In 2015, the Bulgarian National Film Center supported film projects, domestic film distribution and festivals with a total annual amount of €6.75 million. 80% of this went to film projects, 10% to film distribution and 5% to film festivals, while another 5% was destined for “special film projects on subjects proposed by the Ministry of Culture”, according to the institution’s website.
