film profile] (UK) is one of 12 films chosen for Platform, the new, juried programme that champions director’s cinema at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF, 10-20 September). An international jury comprising acclaimed filmmakers Jia Zhang-ke, Claire Denis and Agnieszka Holland will award the Toronto Platform Prize worth $25,000 CAD (€17,200) to the best film in the programme, which will be announced at the awards ceremony on 20 September.

TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey said, “Each of the filmmakers in the programme fearlessly transforms a wide range of compelling realities through their unique visual and narrative styles, and they do so with incredible command and precision.”
