The movie, the shoot for which kicked off on 26 May, is the actor’s fourth feature as a director, following My Wife Is an Actress [+see also:

film profile] (revealed at Toronto in 2012). This time around, Yvan Attal has decided to make an anthology film (which he himself wrote the screenplay for together with Emilie Frèche) that uses humour to condemn both old and modern-day clichés surrounding anti-Semitism.

Produced by Thomas Langmann for La Petite Reine Production, Heureux en France has been pre-purchased by Canal+, and is benefiting from backing from the SofiTvCiné 3 and Palatine Etoile 13 Soficas. The shoot, which took place from 26 May to 10 June in Israel (with Lama Films as line producer), will continue in Paris from 18 June to 31 July. Distribution in French theatres will be handled by Wild Bunch.
