Alice nella Città is back to support the Rome Film Festival, as an independent and parallel sidebar, to continue its work of promoting, disseminating and supporting youth-oriented cinema. For its XI edition, which will take place from 16 to 25 October 2014, the festival directed by Gianluca Giannelli and Fabia Bettini offers an rich Young/Adult Competition, a contest made up of 12 films making international or European debuts.

Among the films competing, for the first time in competition, we have many first works: from the US A Birder’s Guide to Everything by Rob Meyer, with Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Kingsley, which will be distributed in Italy by Videa CDE; from France Spartacus & Cassandra [+see also:

by Ioanis Nuguet; from Great Britain: X+Y by Morgan Metthews, with Asa Butterfield, the unforgettable lead in Hugo Cabret by Martin Scorsese, and Sally Hawkins; The Knife That Killed me by Kit Monkman and Marcus Romer, based on the eponymous novel written by Anthony McGowan, one of the most acclaimed children’s writers in England and Song of the Sea [+see also:

The final film in competition will be presented in collaboration with the International Film Festival in Rome: the movie is Trash, directed by English director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours, The Reader [+see also:

) who will be present at the movie’s screening in Rome.

The 12th film in competition will be announced in the coming days.
