Cinema! Italia! awards Viva la libertà in Germany

- The award for Roberto Andò’s film is to be given out on December 14 in Berlin. Arsenal Film has bought distribution rights for Germany

by Roberto Andò is the film to win the 16th edition of Cinema! Italia!, a selection organised by the association Made in Italy, with contributions from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the ICE (the Institute for Foreign Commerce) and support from the Italian embassy and Italian institutions in Germany. The selection was shown over the course of three months, starting in September and going through twenty-seven German cities, including the biggest ones, with participation from actors and directors from selected films along the way.

During the various screenings, audiences were given voting cards to grade the films they had just seen. In this way, German distributors were given a concrete opportunity to determine levels of interest for the films presented. Viva la libertà was the most popular of graded films.

The concluding moment for the event will take place on Saturday, December 14, at the Babylon cinema, an important and prestigious venue in the German capital. During a brief ceremony, which will be followed by a screening of Viva la libertà, Roberto Andò will receive the winner’s prize.

But the biggest prize won by Robertò Andò is its commercial release in Germany. Indeed, thanks to its successful grading, the German distribution company Arsenal Film has bought its rights so that Viva la libertà  will now be distributed in Germany.
