Bier adds to general consensus that All You Need Is Love

Although it will not be released domestically until August 30, 2012, by Nordisk Film Distribution, Danish director Susanne Bier’s All You Need Is Love has already proved a hot property for Danish international sales agency TrustNordisk, which has most recently licensed the comedy to Prokino for Germany and Austria.

“We have waited long to add a Bier film to our portfolio,” said sales and acquisitions director Ira von Gienanth, of Prokino, whose signature at the Toronto International Festival was followed by contracts with Art Films for Brazil, Aero Films for Czech Republic and Cinemania Group for former Yugoslavia.

The Sisse Graum Jørgensen-Vibeke Windeløv production for Zentropa Entertainments has previously been acquired by Les Films du Losange for France, Teodora Film for Italy, Golem for Spain, Cinéart for Benelux, Frenetic for Switzerland, Voxell for CIS countries, Gutek Film for Poland and Cirko Film for Hungary.

received this year’s Oscar for Best Foreign-Language Feature – reunites her winner team of Jørgensen and scriptwriter Anders Thomas Jensen to follow two families gathering for a wedding in Sorrento, Italy.

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan plays a businessman with an eye for lemons and vegetables, and Danish actress Trine Dyrholm a cancer-stricken woman who has lost her hair and left her husband – in a cast with Christiane Schaumburg-Müller, Paprika Steen, Molly Egelind, Kim Bodnia and Sebastian Jessen.

Bier’s first romantic comedy since local blockbuster, The One and Only, 12 years ago, the €5.5 million production is backed by Zentropa in Sweden and Germany; Film i Väst; Italy’s Lumière & Co., ; and France’s Slot Machine-Liberator Productions.
