The 13th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF, June 12-20) will be presenting Focus Germany for the sixth time, in collaboration with German Films.

Screening in competition at the festival is Neele Leana Vollmar’s Maria, He Doesn’t Like It [+see also:

film profile] can be seen in the Official Program – Out of Competition. There will also be three German films competing for an award in the Students’ Short Film Competition: Gregor Erler’s One Man Show, Sebastian Mez’s Remember How To Fly and Silent Sea by Lena Libertá.

Focus Germany will be presenting a very wide range of German titles in its 15-strong line-up, including the gala opening film What You Don’t See [+see also:

Moreover, cineastes visiting Expo will also have the opportunity to see a number of the Focus Germany films at the German Pavilion. After the festival, many of the films will screen in Peking, to which distributors and TV buyers, as well as other interested spectators, will be invited.

The German titles at SIFF are supported by the German Consul General and the Goethe Institut. In addition, the Sales Support Program of European Film Promotion (EFP) offers sales companies and rights-holders of European films support for their presence in Shanghai.
