László Nemes

László Nemes

László Nemes (Budapest, 1977) was an assistant to Béla Tarr on the prologue of the anthology film Visions of Europe (2004) and A londoni férfi (The Man from London, 2007). He subsequently directed the short films Türelem, which screened at the Venice Festival in 2007 and was nominated for the European Film Awards in 2008, The Counterpart (2008) and The Gentleman Takes His Leave (2010). He now makes his feature directorial debut with Son of Saul, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the last Cannes Festival.
