CAGES

by Olivier Masset-Depasse

synopsis

Eve and Damien are a happy couple, but little by little, silence is driving them apart. They keep an unusual cafe, called the Zoo. Every year they organise a contest for the most peculiar animal noise. Eve expresses herself by acting out what she wants to say, but won't talk. She's pathologically afraid of using words. But her partner needs to talk; it's vital to him. Gradually he also loses the capacity to communicate and becomes a prisoner in an inner fog. The couple is on the verge of suffocation... When Eve finally realises she's about to lose Damien, the love of her life, she decides it's time to change.
