MEKY

by Simon Safránek

synopsis

His name may be Miro Žbirka, but to everyone he’s just Meky. He’s a household name and his hits are well-known, but few actually know the man himself or the kind of life he leads. Yet his story is like a wonderful song – it’s got a great plot, tempo, emotion, and it’s full of surprises. The energetic celluloid portrait Meky presents the popular singer close up in unexpected contexts, with openness, sincerity and humour. Žbirka’s confession is complemented with shots from his recent London concert and with extensive archive material.
